Use of ladders is at the owner’s risk. Ladders are intended for moderate to light use, and the user should always use caution. Customers should refer to their quote/sales order for further instruction regarding secure installation and use. Additionally, Better Building Hardware does not accept any responsibility for any damage resulting from normal use of any ladder product or component.
MANUFACTURER REQUIREMENTS
Safety side rails should be considered on all ladders and are required for ladders at or above 118” center rail height above finished floor
Loft applications require handles/grab bars installed to aid in existing and entering the ladder (handles/grab bars may be supplied by others)
Solid blocking is required for mounting of the rail, spacing of wall mounts is to be within 900 mm (35.43 in)
General Safety Recommendations
Extreme caution should be taken when ascending and descending ladders
Children should be supervised when using ladders
A spotter is recommended, some models may shift while ascending and descending which is common and within the tolerance set by the manufacturer
Slip resistant grip tape is recommended
Hook ladders and telescoping models: Do not ascend ladders while in a vertical position
Utilizing steps near the mounted rail is not recommended, additional handles/grab bars are recommended (handles/grab bars may be supplied by others)
